最近有朋友詢問1945年3月台南大轟炸的訊息.我們感覺真的是沒錯,又是被忽略的歷史,即從1944年10月12日開始到1945年8月15月日這段時間台灣被炸了無數次,但是一般歷史幾乎毫無記載.連當時受難人都一字不提或不愿重提.只是偶而回想,如此而己.像潮州鎮被炸過程,都還是蕭博士個人努力追尋的成果(見"重要鏈接"之一).可能我們應當補足當年的歷史,也算神靖丸事件的歷史延續.
台南這段時期的無妄之災居然記載於美陸軍航空隊(US Army Air Force)隊史. 那時主要目標是台南机場,大約是當年空軍基地,再加上所謂"机會性目標",即由飛行員隨机判斷加以轟炸的目標.他們判斷正确性是相當可疑.所以遭池魚之殃的平民商業住宅區也就不意外了.事實上有的記錄項目只寫轟炸台南一詞,連目標都沒提.
單單3月就炸了好幾次,現原文節錄於下:
On March 1, 1945: SOUTHWEST PACIFIC AREA [SWPA, Far East Air Force (FEAF)]: In Formosa, B-24s bomb the Takao aluminum plant, Tainan Airfield and nearby satellite field and fighters hit buildings at Keishu and storage tanks, railroad yards, and targets of opportunity. [注:這一回台南被炸後起大火,燒了三天.]
And again on March 3: In Formosa, B-24s pound the Tainan area and Kiirun while fighters hit numerous targets of opportunity and fighter-bombers bomb Koshun Airfield.
On March 12: On Formosa B-24s, with P-38 support bomb Takao and Tainan and P-51s also hit Tainan and bomb Jitsugetsu power plants.
March 18: On Formosa, the airfield at Tainan, seaplane base at Takao, and emergency field at Koshun are also hit.
March 20: Other B-24s bomb the town of Tainan, Formosa.
March 22: On Formosa, other B-24s hit Tainan and Okayama Airfields, destroying several hangars, planes, and gun positions.
March 28: Other B-24s hit Takao and Tainan, Formosa while B-25s hit shore targets along the French Indochina coast.
以上只是3月份.其他城市如台北,高雄,新竹,基隆,淡水,桃園等各地無一倖免.
到1945年3月時,美海軍己轉移陣地攻擊沖繩及日本本土.攻炸台灣遂由陸軍航空隊取代.轟炸机群是來自菲律賓[注:開始是Far East Air Force負責,隨後The 5th Air Force也加入,使用B-24及B-25轟炸机],出任務時使用的地圖(約1944年制作),承蕭博士指教,在此網站:

地圖需點擊放大.地名是日文發音如Takao是高雄,Okayama為岡山等等.我們很驚奇的看到地圖上淡水鎮一個小小的水上飛机場,正也是當年被炸目標之一:
可以說1944-45年,台灣幾乎被"炸回石器時代".
