In memory of 神靖丸人員
- from Jhen

"A Thousand Winds"
by Mary Frye (or Anonymous)

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there, I do not sleep
I am in a thousand winds that blow
I am the softly falling snow
I am the gentle showers of rain
I am the fields of ripening grain
I am in the morning hush
I am in the graceful rush
Of beautiful birds in circling flight
I am the starshine of the night
I am in the flowers that bloom
I am in a quiet room
I am in the birds that sing
I am in each lovely thing
Do not stand at my grave and cry
I am not there, I do not die

(Do not stand at my grave and weep)
Melody and lyrics (translation from English) both by 新井滿Arai Mann
Akikawa Masafumi

Very inspiring lyrics. Thanks. Of course 回歸自然 leads to 無所不在.

Dear Jhen:

Thank you for sharing this song with us.

I am glad to hear that you got comforted by this song. I have heard this lyric before but never heard the song. Thank you very much!

Yes, our dads will remain in our hearts forever.

Yet I sincerely hope that you may have chance to know we have a heavenly Father, God, who is taking care of us all the time even though our dads had left us 65 yrs ago.

Song has a strange power and it is an interesting idea to connect this song with the ShinSei Maru incident, after all, what is the difference between this grief and that sorrow? We are helpless in front of the sadness.

Indeed it is difficult to deal with sadness already, let alone the inconsolable grief. Not helpless, though - we have all continued on in our own ways. That would have been something expected of us by the deceased.
